This stunning Sunday saw Kt levelling up big time. She bravely worked with Mr Jonathan Spearman Oxx, a highly recommended and patient cycling coach.
Initially Jonathan worked with us to optimise the bike set up, a major challenge in itself as the usual rules don’t apply.
Within the hour he had her starting off, stopping relatively safely and cycling/balancing like this. Quite an achievement. Very well done to Kt for sticking at it! It was exhausting for both of them but a very rewarding outcome.
Ready for another session in two weeks.
Hard work continues… working on that ‘straightening’ strength with Gareth…Then core work with beautiful Cleo…. Great work Kt
Still working hard here as Gareth Shelbourne introduces her to a new skill.
Still working with S&C Coach Gareth Shelbourne. This represents a milestone in both Kt’s recovery from ongoing knee injuries and adapting to changes brought by simply growing.
Growth spurts present major hurdles for any CP child. It’s helpful to have a quality, resourceful coach to assist – cheers Gareth.
Perhaps yesterday’s hour at the local trampoline park helped a bit too. 🤔
A lovely playing posture. She is growing up and that’s not without its issues on many fronts. With regard to her CP, Kt is in the fight like so many others, some highs and some lows, progression and some regression.
It’s like learning a new language some aspects stick in there, some fade over time with less use. It’s important that she and we recognise this as part of our regular life; with all its new challenges and more importantly opportunities to shine.
This video was published a short while ago both commemorating her fourth year post SDR as well as thanking Dr Park for changing Caitlin’s life.
It’s a quick and fair summary.
